About
Origin Of FarmPeat
FarmPeat’s success is rooted in its strong partnerships with suppliers from Kerala, India—fondly known as “God’s Own Country.” This tropical region boasts a rich agricultural heritage and is renowned for its thriving coconut plantations. The name ‘Kerala’ itself originates from the word ‘Kera,’ meaning coconut in the local language, reflecting the deep cultural and economic ties to this versatile crop.
Kerala’s abundant coconut trees provide the perfect raw material for FarmPeat’s Coco Peat. As a byproduct of the coconut industry, Coco Peat is made by repurposing coconut husks that would otherwise go to waste. This not only supports the local economy in Kerala but also contributes to a more sustainable agricultural system.
The production process involves carefully extracting fibers from the coconut husks, treating them to remove excess salts, and transforming the material into a fine, porous medium ideal for agricultural use. This meticulous approach ensures that FarmPeat delivers high-quality Coco Peat, offering maximum benefits for crop growth and sustainability.
